Bert Hellinger is a philosopher and teacher on the Path of Insight. He describes himself as “someone who serves life” (source). His background is quite extensive and as he says, he has learned from many and in the same time remained faithful to listening to his own soul. His ever evolving work of family constellations started as systemic psychotherapy, and produced the Orders of Love with progressive insights into human life. For some time his approach was known as the Movements of the Soul.
Since 1990s, he has run many workshops and has gradually moved beyond different boundaries. He spoke about this in 2007 (Part 1 Part 2) and 2008 (Part 1 Part 2). Currently, he considers family constellations as “a general human movement, a philosophical movement that has moved far beyond psychotherapy.” The foremost purpose of this movement is to be “in the service of a reality that breaks through to the light” (source of quotes).
Along with his wife, Sophie Hellinger, and several of their close associates, he has established Hellinger Sciencia® as a universal science of the orders that are at work in all important human connections and interactions, and as a dynamic foundation of the Hellinger School.
